Our Worth in his eyes

Heaven now and later
Have you ever wondered about Heaven, if there is a heaven and if you will be going there? You see it on T.V, in movies, you’ve probably heard friends and even family members talk about it. But do you believe it? If there is a heaven, if in your heart you want to believe there is a place you can go to be with God, and to be with your long lost loved ones, then how can you get there, be there and feel in peace about there being a heaven?

Think about why you feel good when you do good in this world. Think about why you feel good when someone thanks you, or when someone smiles or laughs because of something you’ve said that made them feel this good feeling. You have the ability to bring joy to others, to bring peace to yourself, now and later.

We’d like to share a very powerful fact that is explained in the bible, and that will help you understand how your acts of kindness here on earth will help you be closer with God.

We are all priceless in Jesus’s eyes.
Imagine us as a golden nugget that has just been found, and he’s refining us, carefully protected through the fire. Our trials and tests of faith here on earth bring us through the fire. In the end, once we are purified, by “good deeds” by the trials, by keeping our faith, and walking in his will, we become such a beautiful pure gold that glitters and shines, representing his light.

The Purification Process
I’m sure you’ve heard before that when you’re under pressure, is when your true self comes through. That is what Jesus wants for us. To have our true selves shine through any impurities that have come from worldly corruption. Imagine a piece of gold when it’s found in it’s roughest form, dirt, sand, pieces of rock, and you can see the gold there, but it's not glowing it's not very shiny.

Your trials by fire will remove the impurities, and inconsistencies, so that when Jesus arrives you will be honoring and glorifying him by what you’ve gone through.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice in so far as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 1 Peter 4:12-13 ESV

Pure Gold vs. Fool’s Gold
Fools gold is known as Pyrite. It looks gold but it’s not real gold. It might be shiny, it might look valuable, but in the end it’s worth nothing.

The gold on this earth is referring to any monetary gain that you make your main purpose. When you make money your goal in life, it’s a fools gold and the riches bring you nowhere.

In the end you have a bunch of things, but have accumulated no real wealth. Every good deed adds up.

You may find some comfort, some false friends because they are attracted to the “things” but wouldn’t you prefer that your spouse loves you for who you are and not for what you have, and that your friends are there for you no matter what and not when you’ve received the next new thing.

When you get entangled in this world and what it has to offer, you get lost in this web of lies and deceit, and In the end you have a bunch of things, but have accumulated no real wealth. You begin to lose sight of what you initially wanted in the first place, which is true peace and happiness.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Your Good Deeds
Your good deeds purify your gold in heaven. The more good deeds you do, the more pure your gold becomes. We are the Lord’s gold, and sometimes we have to go through the fire to be purified, but we come out gleaming, when we keep our faith, the light of christ shines through us brighter than you can ever imagine, and his peace dwells within us.

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40; NIV

Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
Mathew 6:1 NIV

You can have all of the faith in the Lord, but without acting upon your belief, it is not helping anyone, not even yourself.

Your Personal
‘Happiness’
Bank Account

You have an opportunity to deposit and withdraw happiness each and every day from the choices you have whenever you interact with someone else. No matter how big or small, your words and actions can be a withdrawal from your account by saying a negative comment, or making bad decision. You can have a deposit into your account, by picking up the trash, or helping a stranger across the street.

When it’s time to go, you'll never see a moving van behind a hertz.  You don’t take anything with you when you leave here, except the relationships and good deeds you have built. And most of all, your good deeds can earn you your treasures, waiting for you in heaven, that will allow you to step through those gates.

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Hebrews 6:10

All of your efforts will be worth more than you know. Every effort of righteousness is a deposit into your everlasting happiness account.

The minimal amount of time that we spend on this earth is nothing compared to the eternity waiting for us in Heaven.
